How do I complete the Residential History Section of my Reference Form?

We will need 3 years of your previous address history so we can run a credit check. We will only contact your referee in the instance that your most recent address is rented accommodation.

You will need:

  • A Computer/laptop, tablet or smartphone.
  • A strong and stable, non-organizational internet connection.
  • For the easiest possible submission, use Google Chrome

How to add your residential history via the online form:
 

Click on the your residential status for a detailed step by step guide

- Select the option "Rented" in the "Residential Status" drop down box.

- Enter your address details.

- If you are using the postcode look-up and cannot find your address then click or "enter address manually" to write your details. If your address is international then you will not have the option to use the postcode look-up so please enter these details manually.

- Select if your referee is the managing agent or the landlord. Please select the person who managed your property.

- Enter the amount of time you have been at this address.

- Enter the Name of your referee.

- Enter your referee’s email address.

- Enter your referee’s phone number.

- Click ‘Save Address’.

Important to Note

If you do not have an email address or phone number for your referee please enter the following details as these are required fields:

Email address: noemail@noemail.com

Phone number: 07777777777

- Select the option "Living with Family or Friends" in the "Residential Status" drop down box.

- Enter your address details.

- If you are using the postcode look-up and cannot find your address then click or "enter address manually" to write your details. If your address is international then you will not have the option to use the postcode look-up so please enter these details manually.

- Select if your referee is the managing agent or the landlord. Please select the person who managed your property.

- Enter the amount of time you have been at this address.

- Click "Save Address".

- Select the option "Homeowner" in the "Residential Status" drop down box.

- Enter your address details.

- If you are using the postcode look-up and cannot find your address then click or "enter address manually" to write your details. If your address is international then you will not have the option to use the postcode look-up so please enter these details manually.

- Select if your referee is the managing agent or the landlord. Please select the person who managed your property.

- Enter the amount of time you have been at this address.

- Click "Save Address".

- Select the option "Other" in the "Residential Status" drop down box.

- Click on the "Accommodation Type" drop-down box and select "Short-term rental (Hotel, Hostel, Airbnb etc.)"

- Enter your address details.

- If you are using the postcode look-up and cannot find your address then click or "enter address manually" to write your details. If your address is international then you will not have the option to use the postcode look-up so please enter these details manually.

- Select if your referee is the managing agent or the landlord. Please select the person who managed your property.

- Enter the amount of time you have been at this address.

- Click "Save Address".

- Select the option "Other" in the "Residential Status" drop down box.

- Click on the "Accommodation Type" drop-down box and select "Employment organised accommodation"

- Enter your address details.

- If you are using the postcode look-up and cannot find your address then click or "enter address manually" to write your details. If your address is international then you will not have the option to use the postcode look-up so please enter these details manually.

- Select if your referee is the managing agent or the landlord. Please select the person who managed your property.

- Enter the amount of time you have been at this address.

- Click "Save Address".

- Select the option "Other" in the "Residential Status" drop down box.

- Click on the "Accommodation Type" drop-down box and select "Homeless".

- Enter the amount of time you have been homeless.

- Click "Save Address".


How to upload your proof of address:

Please note, that if your form does not ask you to submit proof of address this means that your agency has not requested this information. You can just go to the next stage of the form if you are not asked to upload proof of address

Once you have submitted three years of your residential history you will be asked to upload your proof of address. To do this:

  • Click the "Upload" button.
  • Select your proof of address and click "Open"
  • Once the document has been the "Upload" cloud will turn green and you will see the file name appear below it.
  • If you have uploaded the wrong file, click the ‘X’ in the top right-hand corner of the upload box to delete it. Then you can upload the correct file by clicking "Upload" again.

Important to note:

  • Every field in this section of the form is required.
  • If proof of address is requested you must upload this in order to proceed to the next section of the form.
  • Once you have completed the residential section of the form you will be asked to complete the ID section of your reference form. Click here for a guide on how to complete this section of the reference form.
